What about you? Do you like the Magic Trackpad? Customized the gestures yet? But over the days, the Trackpad has grown on me and I've started to enjoy the various gestures it allows me to use for controlling the OS. #Mac trackpad gestures dragging windowsIf you ask me, I did face some initial hiccups while using the Trackpad which I guess any longtime Windows user is likely to face. Just click on an option, select the one you want from the dropdown menu and you're done. Step 5: Finally, we've got the More Gestures page where you can customize the new gestures that Lion introduced (swiping between full-screen apps and mission control for example). It introduced some amazing gestures and enabled people to move from the old one or two-finger clicks or scrolls to using three fingers, horizontal scroll, pinching gestures for zooming in or out, and more. The Trackpad was a revolution in many ways. It was not just Apple's obsession with the word 'magic' that resulted in the name that this product was anointed with. The Trackpad (or the mouse touchpad) that comes with the Macbook Pros and Airs these days, which is also available as a separate product to be used with iMacs or Windows systems, was launched sometime in 2010 and Apple calls it Magic Trackpad. Not sure if anybody else might encounter this, but figured I'd give the heads up. I don't like that feature, but was able to turn it off and keep the three finger drag behavior. Something I found when I enabled the three finger drag via Accessibility, it that it seems to have also automatically enabled 'tap to click' under the regular Trackpad settings (System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click). Anybody else here using this or knew about this trick? Any other hidden features in macOS that you use? Swiping between full-screen apps then becomes a four finger swipe. Before the advent of the Force Touch trackpad on the 12' Macbook (and the new 13' Retina MacBook Pro), you could enable a gesture entitled Three Finger Drag. Now you can easily move things around in OS X El Capitan by tapping with three fingers and dragging. Click on 'Three Finger Drag' in the dropdown menu. QUICK FIX: Change the option for the three-finger gesture to dragging it works.Īlthough I wish I could do one-finger dragging and keep the three-finger gesture for Navigation.īut not being able to drag or select text/pics, was a more urgent desire than Navigation, so I changed the option on the three-finger gesture. ![]()
